Well now you might be wondering about our name: planetOGLE. Well firstly the OGLE part might be a bit obvious as my name is Tobias Ogle. The OGLE part also comes from the Optical Gravitation Lensing Experiment. The bold letters are the initials (OGLE) of the telescope that is being used in Chilli to discover dark matter using the microlensing technique. So far fourteen planets have been discovered with the telescope. Our name originally came from the 'super-Earth' extra solar planet called OGLE-2005-BLG-390Lb (orbiting the star OGLE-2005-BLG-390L), which is situated near the centre of the Milky Way galaxy (which was discovered with the OGLE telescope in Chilli). The planet part comes in because the OGLE telescope had discovered 14 planets. Another thing worth noticing is that the planet and the star start with the word OGLE so that fits in with the name. Put all that together and you get planetOGLE.
We are located in the leafy green suburbs of Northern Sydney, NSW, Australia. This is where everything happens: From the design process to the updating process.
We are very proud and pleased to have already worked with some Australian Organizations. New sites are currently being designed and will soon be uploaded to the world-wide-web.
